When I was a teenager, I decided to dedicate my life’s work to helping others, in whatever capacity that may be. That decision thus led me to pursue as much education and training as I needed to become the best therapist I could be for you. Thank you for allowing me to do what I love: helping you.
I am a licensed therapist in the state of New Jersey and the owner and founder of Counseling by the Sea. I am trained at the graduate level with a bachelor's degree (B.S.) in psychology (with a minor in substance abuse studies), a master's degree (M.S.) in mental health counseling and a doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in holistic natural health of psychology. I maintain licensure as a professional counselor (LPC) at the state-level, and am recognized as a certified counselor (NCC) at the national level. I am also a certified addictions counselor, a certified trauma professional and certified in dialectical behavioral therapy, along with several other post-graduate certifications in trauma, substance abuse and eating disorders.
In 2017, I was voted as "Top Counselor" in South Jersey by the International Association of Healthcare Professionals and am the winner of the 2019 Best of Somers Point Awards in the psychotherapist category. I was inducted into the Worldwide Leaders of Healthcare in 2017. Furthermore, I am a member of the American Counseling Association and the American Mental Health Counselors Association. I am also board certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors.
I have experience working in inpatient, outpatient, and private practice settings in New Jersey, Florida, and Connecticut treating children, adolescents, and adults struggling with various mental health and substance use disorders. I currently work with adults, as well as conduct conjoint family sessions and group therapy sessions.
