Counseling by the Sea COVID Guidelines
To ensure the safety of our staff and other clients —
A face covering must be worn when in our building and office areas. We ask upon arriving for your appointment, that you remain in the seating areas of the suite’s hallway until the client before you has exited the office. Upon that time, or when your therapist comes out to call you in, you may enter the therapy waiting room.
If you are feeling sick (with any symptoms whatsoever, not limited to COVID symptoms) and you still planned to come in for a session, we ask that you provide notice that morning or night before (by emailing or calling reception) so that your session may be switched to a telehealth video session instead. We ask that you do not come into the office if you are sick, have traveled out-of-state within two weeks of your session or have been exposed to someone with COVID. Therefore, plan to have your session remotely, if you are feeling well enough to do so.
However, we ask for enough notice for courtesy to our staff and your therapist to plan accordingly. Prior to 24 hours notice is still needed to fully cancel your appointment (in-person or video), in order to avoid being charged for your session. The practice’s cancellation policy still remains in effect, as it has.
The COVID safety release waiver (which will be emailed to you from reception) must be filled out, signed and emailed to reception prior to your first visit back at the office. Each client must sign this waiver in order to be able to resume or begin sessions face-to-face.
Prior to beginning your session, your therapist or the receptionist will take and log your temperature. Additional waivers will be in the waiting room. We ask that you fill out and sign one every time you come into the office for a session. This is required according to CDC regulations.
In addition to the task procedures, after every session the following cleaning procedures will be met:
All surfaces, seating areas rooms, offices and bathroom will be wiped down AND sprayed with disinfectant, including high touch surfaces, such as tables, chairs and doorknobs.
Although our waiting areas are designed with interactive items, we ask at this time that you please not touch any items or decorations in the waiting rooms or offices, as well as the coffee machines, until further notice.
Multiple bottles of hand sanitizer are provided throughout the waiting rooms and offices.
Due to the added regulations and cleaning guidelines, we ask that you arrive on time and respect the ending of your session on time to allow enough time for your therapist to clean the space prior to her next session.
