Myths about Therapy

Therapy can be a confusing and daunting concept if you have never attended before. I often get calls from potential clients expressing their fear of making that initial phone call and questions regarding how the process works. As a therapist, I try to make the process as painless as possible for my clients, assuring them that this is THEIR process. I am here to help you, and do my best to help you as an individual, with the issues you are coming in with. I do not just see clients that struggle with mental health disorders; I also often see individuals who are struggling with issues such as low self-esteem or adjustment problems. It is also important to find the right therapist for YOU. I suggest researching various therapists and taking a look at what their philosophies or modes of practice are to see if it is in line with what you are looking for. Then, make an initial appointment to see if you are a good match, and if you can see yourself accepting help from that person. On my website, I provide you with information to best help you understand how the therapy process works with me personally, as well as what you can expect from counseling with me.
